The Members of Animal Owners United support these causes: These groups do not support animal rights extremists and do not have any direct links to these groups. It is amazing and very sad that some of the most modern nations of the world have the largest amount of reported cases of animal abuse. With thousands of animals being put to death needlessly,
we support programs of spaying and neutering. Do you do your part?

This next one is new and even though the banner below says cats, there are links on that page for dogs and birds. Also links for military personal. Stop over and learn how this program works.
Do you want a new pet?
Are you ready to take on that responsibilty? A pet is is a life-time investment. That animal will depend upon you for it's it's entire lifetime. If so, we recommand that you you get a "pound puppy" or "pound kitty", you might be saving their life.We also favor your going to a "No Kill" shelter, if there is one
in your area. Many animal shelters are no more then the "last resort" for unwanted animals. They exist to get rid of the unwanted problems. "No Kill" shelters really care about the animal and sacrifice to keep them alive. They need your help and support!(We must caution you: Many shelters claim to be be "no kill" in order to get your financial support and then ship off the animals secretly to be destroyed)Always, investigate before you invest your money and time.
If you insist on purchasing a pure-bred or registered animal:
Please get to know the breeder, first. Your animal will be only as good as the word of that breeder. Registration papers are NOT a sign of QUALITY. They aren't even proof of the parentage. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Do your homework, it may save you heartaches. Check with local kennel and breed clubs. find out which members are in good standing. Ask for references, health guarentees, what health problems are in the breed and does the breeder screen prior to breeding for those problems.
Do you know what a puppy mill is? Do you know what happens to animals there? Do you know what kind of animal you are getting from there? And lastly where do they sell their animals to?
When you you answer this last last question, you will see why we oppose most Pet Shops, many sell puppy mill animals.
